Crucifix Cracks Mommy's Skull by Rod Kackley

Christian Lydia Martinez spent the day drinking with friends. The twenty-five-year-old Texas woman came home, got into a fight with her mom, and cracked the forty-five-year-old over the head with a crucifix.

San Antonio police say Christian ripped the religious icon right off the wall and bashed her mother over the head with it.

Mom's going to be okay. She suffered a skull fracture. But doctors at a local hospital were able to treat her injury.

Christian won't be coming home again, at least not for a while.

She's charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and held on a $30,000 bond.

I don't think mommy's going to be putting up her house as collateral to spring her daughter, do you?

He'd always wanted her, but she just wanted to be friends. So, he killed her and everyone else in the house.

If it weren't for his cellmate and a hooker, this guy would still be running wild.

If you've never read a true crime story, here's where you should start!

She Cries Alone: A Shocking True Crime Story

Was it murder on New York’s Hudson River or merely a tragic accident? Should she go down in the annals of America’s female murderers, or is she just one more victim of a fractured court system.

Angelika Graswald claims she’s not a cold-blooded killer, but New York prosecutors say she purposely pulled a plug on her fiance’s kayak so he’d drown in the storm-tossed waves of the Hudson River.

She Cries Alone: A Shocking True Crime Story takes you through the day Vincent Viafore died, the afternoon Angelika walked and talked with a New York State Police detective, the eleven-hour police interrogation of this immigrant from Latvia, her disputed confession, and then the behind-the-scenes deal-making that led to her eventual plea bargain and release.

Is she a killer or a victim? You’ll be the judge as you read She Cries Alone: A Shocking True Crime Story by Rod Kackley.

Smile and Say, 'Cheese!' Politician Accused of Blackmailing Lover With Naked Photo

Photo by Jonathan Wards on Unsplash

Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens (R) admitted cheating on his wife but steadfastly denied his ex-lover’s accusation that he told her to strip naked, taped her to some exercise equipment, took a photo and threatened to send the picture viral if she talked about their affair.

But St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner announced Jan. 11 that her office would investigate the blackmail charge.

“The serious allegations against Missouri Governor Eric Greitens are very troubling,” Gardner said in a statement. “It is essential for residents of the City of St. Louis and our state to have confidence in their leaders.”

St. Louis TV station KMOV broke the story shortly after receiving a recording, provided by Greitens’ ex-lover’s ex-husband, in which the woman details their affair.

The ex-husband told KMOV the recording was made a few days after Greitens and she made love for the first time. On the tape, the woman, who has not been named by KMOV, described Greitens’ actions as “terrible and disgusting.”

But the woman, who was at Greitens’ home to cut his hair the first time they had sex, also said on the recording that, “This (expletive) tornado just happened. I know I brought it on myself.”

What she didn’t know was that her now ex-husband was recording her confession.

She described in detail how Greitens got her into position for a nude photo.

"He said: ‘I'll make you feel better. I'll make you feel good. Come downstairs. I want to show you how to do a proper pull-up,’” the woman said. “And I knew he was being sexual and I still let him. And he used some sort of tape, I don't what it was, and taped my hands to these rings and then put a blindfold on me.”

"I didn't even know. I feel like I don't even know. I was just numb. I just stood there and didn't (expletive) know,” she continued. “He stepped back, I saw a flash through the blindfold and he said: ‘you're never going to mention my name, otherwise there will be pictures of me everywhere.’”

James Bennett, an attorney for Greitens, said the “source” for the story was actually a former Missouri Democratic Party chairman.

“This goes a long way to explaining what is going on — this is a political hit piece,” Bennett said in a statement.

“There was no blackmail and that claim is false,” Bennett also said. “This personal matter has been addressed by the Governor and Mrs. Greitens privately years ago when it happened.  The outrageous claims of improper conduct regarding these almost three-year-ago events are false.”

Unfortunately for Greitens, Bennett’s assurances may not be enough.

Why not?

Heard the one about the naked Canadian kidnappers ?

Photo by Harry Sandhu on Unsplash

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police chalked it up to a crazy combination of drugs and alcohol. But one relative of five women charged with abducting a man, woman, and baby while all of the kidnappers were naked, believes the crime can be blamed on hallucinogenic tea.

“They were talking about the fact that they had perhaps purchased some team in India on a previous trip,” he told CTV News. “The five of them consumed the tea, and then this giant tirade came out of it.”

Whatever the reason, the five buck naked kidnappers put a man in the trunk of their BMW and forced the young woman and her baby into the vehicle before speeding off. All three victims were able to escape and the RCMP arrested the trio.

The three adults are all facing kidnapping charges. The teens were not charged because of their ages.

"It's a scary thought thinking, 'Oh, let's try this tea that we purchased,'" said the relative who spoke to CTV. "And then all sit down thinking they're just going to have a nice morning and end up in that circumstance."

A Woman Who Survived a Bloody Night of Mass Murder in Michigan by Rod Kackley

The Devil Made Him Do It:  Shocking True Crime Story of Mass Murder tells the story of a blood-soaked night in Kalamazoo Mich. when an Uber driver started killing people. Why? Jason Dalton says an app on his iPhone told him who to kill and who to let live.

Tiana Carruthers might not have been Jason Dalton’s first victim if not for an Uber customer who either decided they didn’t need a ride or a mistake in the address to which Dalton responded.

He pulled up in front of the Meadow Townhouse residential complex’s main office instead of the townhouse where an Uber customer was supposed to be waiting to be picked up.

When Dalton couldn’t find his customer, he waved Tiana over to his car asked her if she was the woman who wanted a ride or if she was the woman, before he opened fire. He fired as many as 10 rounds at Tiana. The 25-year old mother of a little girl was severely injured.

As she was shot, Tiana yelled to her daughter and other children at a nearby park to run for cover.

She was hit by four shots and still had a bullet lodged in her liver when she was released from the hospital in March to continue her recovery at home.

Doctors said the bullets fractured both of her femurs as well as her left arm. It was the fourth bullet that ripped through her right side and lodged in her liver.

As she continued her recovery at home, Tiana said she was ‘working on forgiving the man,: accused of shooting her.

“I do not hate him,” she said. “I do not hate him at all. I ask myself every day why don’t I hate this man, but I don’t. Sometimes I get angry with myself, but I don’t.”
